in:ciite, a media company powering worship music notaries such as Travis Cottrell, Lenny LeBlanc, and Jeff Deyo are set to release City of Life Worship, a new collection of worship songs birthed from one of the fastest growing, most vibrant churches in Central Florida. City of Life Church is home to more than 4,000 people of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, united by their common love for Jesus. Blending powerful praise and worship with practical and sound biblical teaching enables City of Life to minister hope to all people and reach the world with a message of love and restoration.
City of Life Church is committed to creating a new sound in worship and in this new release, these thirteen songs stir the hearts of worshipers to burn with a passion and awaken the fire of fervent devotion in the House of the Lord. With the upbeat, impactful, soul-stirring lyrics, City of Life Worship has inspiring worship songs for every moment from personal worship in the car to the largest congregational gathering.
Under the direction of pastor & worship leader Jeffrey Smith, each song on the record was written in moments of corporate worship from within the walls of City of Life Church. On one night the City of Life family came together for an unforgettable evening of worship that emerged as this live album.
"I have had the honor of knowing Jeffrey Smith's passion for worship for over a decade. This City of Life Worship experience and these songs reflect the desire to follow God's call passionately and it is simply contagious," says in:ciite CEO, Chris Thomason.
From the catchy excitement of the song "Fire" coined within the church as "the song that changed a city" stirring the hearts of worshipers to burn with passion for the Lord, to the vibrant songs of praise like "J-O-Y" and "Taking the Limits Off," City of Life Worship is the perfect combination of energy and reverence in one musical experience from a church that continues to strive in igniting a passion and fire for the one true God!
Jeffrey Smith was raised singing and preaching in churches across North America. His parents were full-time evangelists and involved Jeff in their ministry from the age of 2. As he grew and matured, his own talents began to emerge.
At the age of 17, Jeffrey signed his first record contract. Since then, he has become an accomplished recording artist and producer with 3 national releases and over 750 completed songs in his catalogue. He has written music that has been recorded and performed by a variety of artists, such as the Grammy-award-winning group Take 6, The Pointer Sisters, Al Jarreau, and Marilyn McCoo. Jeffrey has also had three songs make the Billboard Top 40. In the midst of experiencing great success in the recording industry, Jeffrey’s heart turned toward the local church. He soon joined his father and mother in co-pastoring City of Life Church and also began leading worship in its weekly services.
In September of 2009, Jeffrey was installed as the senior pastor at City of Life. At that same time, under his direction and production, City of Life released its first live worship album with eleven original worship songs, many of which he wrote.
Jeffrey is committed to creating a new sound in worship that allows churches across the world to connect with God in a fresh way. A prolific songwriter, musician and author, he is dedicated to cultivating a new movement of creative artists who will reach the world with the hope of God’s love through innovative media and creativity in the arts. Jeffrey is a skilled teacher who is unafraid to approach the hard questions of life, and he brings his fresh perspective and great sense of humor to the stage every time he teaches.
Jeffrey and his wife, Amy, have a heart to serve the body of Christ, bringing a message of hope to the lost and raising up a generation sent out with a love mission.
Amy Smith is the senior pastor of City of Life Church alongside her husband, Jeffrey Smith. Amy was born in Plant City, Florida, and began attending City of Life as a small child, where she was active in the church from a young age. A graduate of Domata School of Ministry, she began her full-time ministry by helping to organize and conduct soul-winning crusades in the Philippines, where thousands made decisions to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Ordained in 2002, she has worked since then to establish and build City of Life through many of its ministries and through the production of Blink, a multi-media theatrical experience that has resulted in tens of thousands of souls won for Christ and thousands baptized.
With Amy’s down-to-earth sense of humor and spirited personality, she easily relates to people in all walks of life as she teaches the Word with authority. She has a sincere desire to see believers take their place within the body by using their talents and gifts in the local church. Amy is especially passionate about bringing hope to ladies of all ages through City of Life's two main outreaches to women: PRISM, a ministry that offers practical and spiritual support to single mothers; and Zoe, City of Life's women's ministry, which seeks to raise up an army of women devoted to living the God-kind of life.
Amy and her husband Jeffrey have three children, Mia, Jude, and Zoe.
Janis Smith has devoted her life to ministering God’s love to the broken and hurting. She went into full-time ministry at the age of 17, when she and her husband, Gary, began traveling the United States as singing evangelists. Their group, “The Soulsearchers,” brought a revolutionary new sound to Christian music.
After settling in Central Florida in the 1980s to raise their young family, Janis and Gary started City of Life Church in Kissimmee, Florida. What began as a home Bible study with just thirty members has blossomed into a multi-thousand-member church family that has been a bastion of hope to the southeastern United States for almost three decades.
Amid the high demands that accompany serving in full-time ministry, Janis found the time to earn her doctorate from Barry University and to become a nationally-certified psychologist with five areas of specialty. She also serves as the president of Heritage University and Seminary, a nationally accredited institution of higher education.
Janis Smith is a prolific songwriter and a gifted singer with five recordings to her credit, including “Hymns of the Heart” and “Visitation.” You can find Janis leading worship at City of Life, pouring her heart out before God and leading people deep into His life-altering presence.
Devoted to increasing the quality of life for those who are less fortunate, Janis is the president of Hands to the World, a missions organization based in La Ceiba, Honduras, that feeds millions of meals to hungry children around the world.
Born and raised in Northern Indiana as the daughter of a pastor, Cassie Hendon sang her first solo in church at the age of four after being bribed by her father with the promise of a trip to the toy store. A few years later, Cassie discovered her love for worshiping God, and no bribes were necessary to get her to sing. She began regularly leading corporate worship at her church at the age of sixteen, and soon found it to be a passion of her heart.
After earning a degree in elementary education, Cassie taught first and second grade at an inner-city elementary school. She moved to Florida to join City of Life in 2006, and now serves on staff as the assistant to the senior leadership. She is privileged to devote her days to advancing the vision of City of Life Church, and believes she works with some of the most amazing people on the planet.
Passionate about world missions, Cassie has traveled across Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia to share the love of Christ. Her most recent trips have been to Honduras with Hands to the World, the missions organization of City of Life.
A budding songwriter, Cassie spends her free time working on lyrics, learning to play the guitar, and writing her blog. She’s a collector of quotes and a lover of all things creative. Her heart’s desire is to see heaven and earth meet through acts of worship and justice.
